Irish Hiking Scarf Closeup

Was what my brother #1 said when he unrolled the Irish Hiking Scarf and found needles and the end of the third skein still attached. Nope, just need about 20 more minutes. The scarf was in Brown Sheep’s Lamb’s Pride Bulky, on 10.75 needles, and after 36 cable repeats I had about 1 yard of yarn left. Bless my brother, he liked it as is – no blocking! I think this means the Big List has 11 things on it. I’m torn between picking up 1 of the 11, adding something whose existence I’ve been denying, or starting something new.

Alpha because this is all I’ll comfortably admit to having on the knitting burner in public.  Alpha because if I haven’t fully committed to the project, then technically it doesn’t count.  And alpha because 12 is a nice round number.

This is where I hang out most of the time. It’s really a fantastic place to “work” (work being relative, after all), but an even better place to meet people. We have knit-ins – or knitting circles – on Wednesday and Friday evenings, from 5-8 pm.
The groups are very friendly, fun, and enthusiastic about knitting – among other things.  If you’re around, come and join us!

This is just weird to have a blog.  But I’m going to think of it as my knitting project personal assistant.  I’ll list everything, and hopefully seeing it in writing will help me see it coming off the needles… and not by sliding those needles out for use in other projects!

It’s the day before Christmas Eve, and I ran out of yarn on the ruffle scarf, which looks strangely like a piece of exotic coral.  Have about 100 stitches left to cast off, and will need another skein of blossom.  The Big Kureyon scarf is just past half done.  And the Aran stocking from VK is about 4 inches long.  Is that long enough to wrap up with the picture?  I hope I get more of it done tomorrow… will have to find a quiet corner to hide with it for a while.

Well, that’s it for now – since this is only a test.  I’ll figure out how to put up photos tomorrow, after the knitting!
